Time: 7.30pm to 10.30pm
Venue: Victoria Hall, Keighley, BD21 3JN.
Admission: £20 per ticket, payable online.
Victoria Hall is a fabulous venue and there’ll be plenty of room for dancing and meeting friends. The room will be filled with union jacks, bunting and a giant mirror ball creating a fantastic atmosphere.
Ashby Big Band is one of the most sought after swing bands in the UK, playing at some of the most prestigious events.
They are one of the best Glenn Miller tribute bands and most versatile orchestras on the 1940s entertainment circuit.
In addition to the Miller standards and a repertoire that includes the “top 100 hits of the 40s”, they cater to dedicated swing dancers with music from Louis Jordan, Louis Prima, Caro Emerald etc for Lindy, Shim Sham, Balboa, Shag and more.
You are invited to don your favourite 1940s attire or whatever makes you comfortable for a beautiful evening with street party tables and lighting.
A raffle will raise funds for Mode Rehabilitation, an armed forces charity assisting ex-servicemen with mental health needs.
You can expect:
- The glitzy hall decked with bunting and flags.
- Street party tables with mini flags and nibbles.
- A big sound from a swing band that many locals will know.
- A professional dancer to remind you of some of the steps & moves.
- A professional singer enchanting you throughout the evening singing your favourite songs.
- A dance floor in front of the band up on the stage decked with sand bags, flags and projection onto a parachute above the band.
- Fantastic lighting and mirror ball to add to the atmosphere.
- Free easy parking outside of the venue.
- Hours of fun, singing, dancing over the 1940’s Weekend in Haworth!
Q – Is there a bar?
A – Yes. This is run by the venue. This will also be a quiet place with seating to chat with your friends.
Q – Is there food?
A – No as most people would have eaten by then, but the street party tables will contain lots of nibbles for you to enjoy.
Q – Do I have to wear a costume?
A – No. You can wear whatever makes you feel comfortable.
Q – Are there any discounts on ticket prices?
A – As tickets will go fast and we are paying professional rates, insurance and booking a large venue with all the lighting, etc, an Early Bird offer is the only special rate.
Q – Is the parking safe?
A – You park at your own risk:
Victoria Hall in Keighley has many areas that are well lit and a security guard will be stood outside keeping an eye on the situation.
Q – Do you do other 1940’s dances?
A – Yes. Planning is already underway for regular dances in Keighley and other towns across the UK where dances don’t yet exist. Watch this space!
Q – Does the venue have easy access for people with disabilities?
A – Keighley – everything is on the ground floor with a side entrance for people in wheelchairs and there is a small lift to raise you up a few steps to the toilets.

A – No. You will receive and automated email when you place your order, then a second email confirmation when your order has been processed. Please either print out this email or show it on your mobile phone upon arrival at the dance.
